Our Story

WE ARE GETTING MARRIED (:

Audrey and Mason met at Purdue University in the fall of 2016. What started as a lost wager over the World Series and a first date in the oldest library at Purdue University turned into a budding love story. They quickly became inseparable and fondly look back on the beginning of their relationship as it was filled with days spent studying together, nights out with friends dancing at the Purdue bars and proceeding to walk home in freezing weather, and house parties in Audrey’s apartment. As that chapter of their lives ended, Audrey moved back to Washington, D.C. to begin her nursing career and Mason started his aviation training in Pensacola, FL. During the 6 months they spent long-distance, they realized more than ever that life was better spent together, so they signed a lease for an apartment in Corpus Christi, TX and took the first step on a wild and unforgettable adventure.

On January 3rd of 2019, Audrey and Mason set out to move Audrey halfway across the country to Texas. The trip involved a few missed turns, a bout of food poisoning, and barely enough room for Apollo to fit in Audrey’s 1999 Toyota Avalon. Despite all of this, Audrey and Mason could not be more excited to live together. The years spent in Corpus Christi saw many life changes. Audrey leaving bedside nursing and beginning her MPH program. Mason completing the first phase of flight school and getting selected for his choice of aircraft. These years are some of their fondest with new foods, new friends, and new experiences.

When the pandemic hit, a lot changed for both Audrey and Mason. From being the first group to not get a proper flight school graduation ceremony to moving to Florida in the peak of the first wave of COVID-19, great changes came with great uncertainty, but Audrey and Mason grew stronger together. Their time in Florida flew by in the blink of an eye, but they will always remember that sunny duplex apartment that brought them so much joy. Before they knew it, it was time to pack up and drive across the country again, but this time Apollo had a bit more room in the car.

From the beautiful expanse of South Texas to the white sand dunes of New Mexico to the rolling hills of California, this trip truly changed their lives. It was not without challenges, but it also created some of their favorite memories. On February 16th, Mason asked Audrey to marry him under the roaring Yosemite Falls in the heart of Yosemite National Park. It was the most magical day that neither of them will ever forget. Audrey and Mason now live in Mount Vernon, WA and cannot wait to begin this next chapter of their lives together. They share a bond unlike anything else and have weathered multiple cross-country moves, a global pandemic, vehicular malfunction(s), wildfires, hurricanes, and floods together with strength and perseverance. They know that no matter what life brings, they will face it together, and that the best is truly to come.

FAQ

Will there be time to explore the area over the course of the weekend?

Yes! While the wedding is the focus of the weekend, we encourage our guests to take advantage of the local area and explore on Thursday and Friday if they have the chance. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park are only a short drive away and have some of the most beautiful areas in the country. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and breweries to explore in Jackson, Wyoming, which is about 30 minutes from Victor, ID. No plans are set as of now, but some of the ladies and Audrey are planning to spend some time on Friday getting their nails done, so message Audrey if you wish to join! There may also be opportunities for kayaking and fishing and of course plenty of time spent relaxing at the cabin enjoying the view and company! We are confident that no matter what you are interested in, this will be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

What is your COVID-19 policy for the weekend?

In light of emerging variants and ongoing pandemic, we respectfully request all guests be fully vaccinated and/or boosted if eligible prior to arriving. Please be sure to bring a copy of your vaccine card with you. As the situation is constantly evolving, Audrey and Mason may require all guests to be tested within 48-72 hours prior to arriving. They will communicate if this will be required at least 1 month in advance. Please note that if testing is required due to antigen testing having lower accuracy, 1 PCR test will be accepted, or two antigen tests done on two consecutive days. As we will be staying together and spending extended periods of time together, we want to keep everyone safe and healthy. Our goal is to prevent asymptomatic individuals from accidentally spreading the virus. The weekend will be attended by individuals of all ages, medical histories, and surroundings and we want to ensure everyone is safe while they are with us, and when they go home to their friends and families. This will allow us to all share an enjoyable and relaxing weekend celebrating the happy couple!

What is the dress code for the wedding?

For the wedding, while it will be an outdoors event, we are asking our guests to follow a semi-formal dress code. For gentlemen, we are recommending neutral-colored suits or dress shirt, tie, and slacks. For ladies, mid-calf or full-length dresses in natural tones and flats or wedges that are comfortable for walking around in the ceremony location. While guests can wear any color they choose, preferred colors include green, taupe, grey, blue, and rust. Our wedding palette is included below. For the days leading up to the ceremony, please remember that temperatures in the valley can fluctuate quite significantly. It is a cliche, but please remember to dress in layers, and bring shoes for hiking if that is something you are interested in.

What is the plan for food and alcohol throughout the weekend?

For food, Thursday and Friday dinners will be covered in addition to providing some items for breakfast all three days, but if guests have specific requests, then there are local grocery stores in Victor and Driggs, ID. If a member of your party has dietary restrictions, please notify us on the RSVP form and we will happily accommodate! Food has always been a big part of the love story between Mason and Audrey, and we will ensure no guest goes home hungry.

Alcohol the day of the ceremony will be provided in the form of beer, wine, and signature cocktails; however, if you would like something specific for your personal taste throughout the weekend, we recommend purchasing that yourself.
